Please accept my gratitude for giving me the opportunity to share with all of you our mission to use the iconic Black Cab to travel from England to Macedonia, crossing 15 countries in just 10 days, to raise awareness and funds for charities that are working towards a better future for our communities.
Through our journey, we aim to promote the values of empathy, compassion, and solidarity and inspire people to join us in supporting these worthy causes. We believe that our journey can help to bridge cultures and connect people from different parts of Europe, all working together to create positive change. By supporting our cause, you are not only contributing to these charities but also becoming part of a journey that believes in the power of travel and community to make a difference.

Welcome to First Rising – the official newsletter for members of United Grand Lodge of England.
EMERGENCY AID TO EARTHQUAKE SURVIVORS
Survivors of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria will receive vital emergency supplies thanks to a £60,000 grant from our charity to the British Red Cross, UK for UNHCR and UNICEF, who are leading the relief effort on the ground. The death toll is rising, and thousands of survivors are sleeping in the open in temperatures well below zero. Snow is falling in some parts as the region experiences colder-than-average winter weather, hampering rescue efforts. Find out more on the help that we are providing through the Masonic Charitable Foundation below. |

Wrapping up 2022 |
Thanks to the generosity of Freemasons and their friends and family, we were proud to be able to support hundreds of charities and thousands of people in need. Our Chief Executive Les Hutchinson recorded a special message that summarises our achievements this year. We also spoke with people involved with our work to check how 2022 was for them and find out about their plans for next year. |
The festive period means different things to different people. We love celebrating here at the MCF and we are lucky to work with people from many different cultures and backgrounds. We’ve spoken with some of our colleagues to find out how they celebrate the festive period. |
